Project Background

The space we need to renovate is a combined office and exhibition area on the third floor. The key challenge—and the most difficult aspect—of the renovation lies in leveraging the existing spatial characteristics, as it is particularly hard to convey the high‑end, luxurious texture that wedding dresses demand.

Project Idea

In ancient times, women typically emerged from the attic of their boudoir; thus, marriage was also referred to as “leaving the pavilion,” and the staircase became one of the key ceremonial pathways through which women made this transition. At the same time, the staircase functioned as a ritual space that integrated exhibition areas, using varying heights to generate distinct visual layers.

The varying heights created by the staircase foster a visual dialogue within the space. As you search for your own wedding dress, you may also catch a glimpse of “her” in it—perhaps even finding your own gown along the way.
