What types of light sources are available for indoor lighting?
Category:
【概要内容】Lighting for indoor living and working environments is collectively referred to as luminaires. These luminaires serve both decorative and functional lighting purposes and can be equipped with incandescent lamps (including halogen lamps) or fluorescent lamps in a variety of shapes and wattages. Indoor luminaires can be classified into six main categories based on their form: recessed lights, ceiling-mounted lights, pendant lights, wall lights, portable lights, and track lights.

Indoor luminaires can be installed in six main categories: recessed lights, ceiling-mounted lights, pendant lights, wall lights, portable lamps, and track lights.
Recessed ceiling-mounted general lighting fixtures that emit light only downward. They are equipped with diffuser lenses, prismatic lenses, or grilles to reduce glare and to broaden the light distribution of various optical components. OA lighting, designed for office automation environments, is a type of recessed luminaire that strictly controls the luminance of the light-emitting surface in directions close to the horizontal plane. This ensures that images on computer monitors remain highly visible while minimizing interference with the content displayed on the screen. The vast majority of recessed luminaires feature symmetrical light distributions; only a small number of wall- or vertical-surface-mounted luminaires, installed on adjacent ceilings, produce asymmetrical light distributions.

Indoor light
A type of luminaire installed on the ceiling surface, with all its components exposed. Based on the light distribution pattern, it is classified into three types: fully diffused, downward-diffused, and downward-directed.
① Omnidirectional type. It uses a diffusing or surface-pressed prismatic transparent lampshade to emit light into the surrounding space. During operation, the light source inside the shade is invisible, and the upward-directed light illuminates the walls and ceiling. Therefore, when installing a light-colored ceiling in a room, as much light as possible will be reflected from the ceiling.
② Downward-scattering type. A general lighting fixture in which the side surfaces of the luminaire cover are made of opaque or partially opaque materials, allowing light to emerge through the translucent lower portion of the cover. Very little illumination is directed upward to the ceiling.
③ Downward-projecting type. A lighting fixture with a narrow beam angle, used for accent lighting or supplementary illumination. It is mounted on the ceiling to provide adequate lighting for visual tasks.
